Golden’s Age-friendly Community Plan for 2025

The plan for Golden and Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area A focuses on creating an inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment for residents of all ages, with a special emphasis on older adults. Guided by the World Health Organization’s age-friendly framework, it identifies key priorities and opportunities across nine community life domains.

The 2025 update revisits the 2014 plan to assess progress, identify gaps, and realign goals based on current needs and community feedback. Key goals include enhancing support coordination, increasing awareness and use of services, fostering collaboration among organizations, securing resources for future needs, improving quality of life for those aged 55+, and boosting older adults’ involvement in community planning.
