Online info session guides applicants through 2025 PlanH funding

An online info session hosted by BC Healthy Communities (BCHC) marked the launch of the 2025 PlanH Healthy Communities Grants, offering guidance for local and Indigenous governments aiming to build healthier, more equitable communities.

PlanH Delivery Lead Connie Allsopp and Grants & Engagement Coordinator Laura Chambers walked attendees through the application process and funding streams, while BCHC Executive Director Vanessa Manuel opened the session with a welcome and land acknowledgement.

Applications opened May 12 and close July 7, 2025. The grants are available through two streams:

  • Community Connectedness offers up to $5,000 for projects that strengthen social ties and networks.
  • Healthy Public Policy provides up to $15,000 for initiatives that improve or create policies supporting community health and well-being.

Applicants must apply an equity lens, ensuring benefits reach those historically excluded from local decision-making. Healthy Public Policy proposals must align with at least one of six provincial health priorities, including climate change, substance-use prevention, and mental wellness. Projects that advance Truth, Rights & Reconciliation, anti-racism, and health equity are especially encouraged.

Funded by the Ministry of Health and administered by BCHC, PlanH supports communities through grants, resources, and learning opportunities. Learn more and apply by visiting the PlanH Grants Application Guide.
