New Program Manager: Victoria Barr

We are excited to introduce Victoria Barr, BCHC's new program manager.  

Victoria brings expertise and passion as a research planner, specializing in the connections between community planning, health and well-being. 

Her work in this area has involved leadership, project management, and partnership development in community health, and developing and implementing public policy in community, school, and local government settings. Victoria has a wealth of experience working with health authorities, local governments and a wide range of stakeholders and has supported building healthier communities in a variety of ways including:

  • Strategic planning, working with communities to build on strengths, and working with diverse sectors to achieve common goals;
  • Developing and analyzing policies from a variety of sectors and levels to identify how those policies might affect community health and well-being (health impact assessment); 
  • Applied research, including comprehensive literature reviews, survey design, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, publishing journal articles; and
  • Developing and facilitating workshops and other educational events.

Victoria also holds a Masters degree in Health Promotion and a PhD in community planning.
