Cities Fit for Children Biennial Summit (2015-Current) (Project)

In 2014, BC Healthy Communities Society (BCHC) assumed the facilitation role for Cities Fit for Children.

Cities Fit for Children is a biennial conference that brings together municipal leaders with child development professionals; parents and community champions to promote and increase collaboration towards creating local environments where children, youth and their families thrive.

We have announced a Call for Proposals to host the 2017 Summit.

Building from successful events held in Kelowna (2007), Langley (2009), Kamloops (2012), Surrey (2013) and Vernon (2015) we have recently announced a Call for Proposal to host the 2017 Summit.

BCHC works with a provincial advisory group to ensure continuity for the initiative and to guide the selection and development of the next event as well as to provide outreach and planning supports for the implementation of a top notch event.

We are delighted that the important mission of Cities Fit – to provide a forum for the coming together of local governments, service providers and committed citizens to improve environments for children, youth and families – will continue under the auspices of BCHC.
