Earlier this year the City hosted a smoke-free 2015 Canada Winter Games. They initially created a<a href=\"http:\/\/hyperlink: http:\/\/www2.news.gov.bc.ca\/news_releases_2013-2017\/2015HLTH0001-000054.htm\"> <\/a>proclamation&nbsp;that all official venues used for the 2015 Canada Winter Games would be smoke-free in partnership between Northern Health, the 2015 Canada Winter Games, and the City of Prince George.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The City has now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princegeorge.ca\/infocentre\/communications\/media%20releases\/21-09DraftBylawSurvey.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">proposed a draft bylaw<\/a> to restrict smoking and vaping in a number of public places in the city.&nbsp;Citizens are invited to learn more and provide feedback through neighbourhood conversations in a series of community engagement events called \u2018Talktober\u2019 throughout October.<a href=\"http:\/\/princegeorge.ca\/CityHall\/Social\/TobaccoBylaw\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"> Learn more here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Prince George is taking action on improving the health of their citizens by looking at tobacco use in the city.
