We'd like to welcome Tahia Ahmed to the BCHC team! Tahia is the new Coordinator of the City of Victoria Youth Council (CVYC) and, in her role, she provides support and builds capacity for young people to engage with the City of Victoria and the issues they are passionate about.
Prior to this role, Tahia lived in Vancouver, BC where she has more than 6 years of experience in youth engagement, social justice education, and grassroots activism. She has worked with organizations such as Check Your Head: The Youth Global Education Network, ArtQuake, The Mosaic Institute, and BC Children’s Hospital.
Tahia has a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University. Her commitment to anti-oppression, social justice, and community building brings her to Victoria to pursue a Masters in Dispute Resolution at the University of Victoria.
